Gud - from the Burt's Bees People

Every once in awhile I run across a new product that just "wows" me.  Recently I was honored to be selected to receive a gift pack from the Gud company (the Burts Bees people!) to try some of their new products and fragrances.  First, when the package arrived, I was completely in awe of the packaging.  This wasn't delivered in a bubble wrap envelope....it was like opening the most special present on Christmas or your birthday.

What was even better was the contents.  I received full sized bottles of three of their new fragrances, and have fallen in love with each one.  They included the Body Wash in the Floral Cherrynova™ scent; the Natural Body Mist in the Orange Petalooza™scent; and the Natural Hand Cream in the Vanilla Flame™ scent.

This morning I used the Floral Cherrynova™body wash, and the scent is the most delicate aroma.  It's the kind of scent that will catch you off gaurd.....kind of like when the orange trees in Florida are in bloom.  The wind blows and you smell the faint fragrance of the blossoms.  That's what this scent is like.....very faint and delicate, so it doesn't over power you during the day.

My nose was in for a real treat when I tried the Natural Body Mist in the Orange Petalooza™scent.  Oh my gosh.....I wanted to hide it so no one would find it!  I'm a lover of more spicey scents, at least that's what my nose tolerates the best, and I always get the most compliments on when I wear it.  The Orange Petalooza is absolutely divine in my opinion.  Even my twin three-year-old granddaughters love it, and now every time they come to visit, it's one of the first things we do.....spray ourselves with it.  Again, like the Floral Cherrynova, it's a delicate, subtle scent that you'll only smell when you least expect it which is perfect in today's world of overloads on every front.

Now....another area I'm very picky about is hand lotions.  I can't tell you how many I've purchased only to give away because the scent was so obnoxious to my nose!  Gud sent me the Natural Hand Cream in the Vanilla Flame™ scent.

I may sound redundant, but this scent was to die for!  Again, subtle and calming, and the richness of the lotion was heavenly.  More importantly, it didn't leave my skin greasy, or sticky, it was as if it just melted into my skin leaving it so soft and supple.  I highly recommend this hand cream!

Gud has developed this entire line to include all natural products that not only perform extremely well, but deliver scents that virtually everyone will love.  I love the fact that they've developed these with the finest ingredients, and stayed away from all those chemicals none of us can pronounce the names of.  You really should visit their website, and see the range of wonderful products available.  Take a few minutes to do so....you won't be sorry you did!

Appreciating the details

Many of the casual outfits you'll find on Adorable Baby Clothing are from Le Top.  If you're not familiar with Le Top, they've been manufacturing children's clothing for nearly 40 years, and details are among the things they feel are important.  The little outfit pictured on the left is just one of those (LTP1452).  The fabric......so soft! You'll find a double ruffled skirt made out of the softest cotton, but it's not flimsy.  The weight of the cotton blend will amaze you, but what's important here is that it's going to hold up well for many wearings and washings! (You'll probably have a friend or relative keeping their eye on it, so when you're little one out grows it, they'll be asking for it.)  The top is a sumptuous chocolate brown velour and what we love is the little fabric flower nestled right in the front of the neckline for that extra added touch.  Your little girl will love this outfit.  It would be adorable with pink tights or maybe a chunky pair of boots.

I always hear people say how hard it is to find really cute boy's clothing.  Well, Le Top has heard that too, and gone beyond the ordinary to produce some of the cutest little boy's clothing you'll find anywhere.  The outfit to your right (LTP2154) is just one example.  Again, they use high quality cotton blends, incorporating impeccable stitching, and what's amazing about this outfit.......the plane on the shirt, and the emblems on the bottom of the pants leg......those aren't printed!  Those are actual embroidered appliques!  I mean truly little works of art when you start to appreciate the details in the Le Top clothing!

Maybe it's just me......

So.....I've been a life long, American born citizen of the United States.  And, I know times change, and with that so do lots of things.  Most of them are for the better, but sometimes I just have to wonder what in the world is happening to our country.  Why this diatribe?

Well.....I went to Target this morning for several things.  The first on my list was some kind of decongestant because I struggle with allergies for about 6 out of the 12 months here in Florida.  Just when the pollen seems to be subsiding, the molds show up, or dust, or wild fire smoke.....the pollutants in the air are never ending.  At any rate, I read all the labels, and the one I decided on was a generic version of Claritan -D.  There was no package on the shelf, just a little card to hand to the person behind the pharmacy counter.  I had heard they did this now, but I buy this stuff so infrequently, I've never had to ask for it.  At any rate, I gave them my card for the decongestant....and they all but finger printed me.  I had to give them my ID, which they copied all the information into the register, plus on a sheet of paper, and then made a photo copy of it.  I had to sign two different documents before I could even pay for it.  They politely explained it's because of state and federal regulations.  Holey moley......for 15 little pills that will make my nose not stuffy...hopefully!

I realize there are the idiots in the world that take these things and turn them into heavens knows what, but I hardly think I fit the profile of one of them......not to mention I only bought one box of them.  I could understand if I wanted 5 or 10 boxes at once....that would throw a little suspicion up for me.....but one box!

But, I let it go....got my little box and proceeded through the store to finish my shopping.  Now--you know how it is when you go in Target....they cleverly arrange things so you see them, and want them even though you didn't come to the store to buy them.  Well....they got me again......I was about to leave, and there in front of me was this really pretty display of wine.  I thought, "hmmmmm.....it wouldn't hurt to buy  one bottle in case someone stops by".....and so I picked up one bottle and put it in my cart.

I was completely flabbergasted at the checkout when the lady asked me for my ID.....I thought she was kidding at first, because clearly I look "old" enough to buy a bottle of wine.  But, she wasn't kidding!  And once again, all my ID info was typed into the register, with her explanation being the state requires it.

REQUIRES WHAT.......to know who buys a stupid bottle of wine!!!!!!!  What business does the state have knowing what I buy!!!!!!!  I'm still mad and it really bothers me that the government, whether it be local, state, or federal is now tracking more and more of the products we buy.  It's none of their business!  It's almost a surreal thought when you realize what you do, where you go, who you're with is probably a lot more visible than you think.

But then again........maybe it's just me.......
